One Killed in Racing Crash on Bellfort Avenue in SE Houston

24-Year-Old Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Bellfort Avenue near Hobby Airport

Houston, Texas (December 27, 2020) – A 24-year-old was killed on Christmas morning after two racing trucks collided in southeast Houston, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on December 25, on Bellfort Avenue near Hobby Airport.

Police said a 29-year-old man was driving a white GMC Sierra and was stopped at a light, while a 24-year-old was driving a white Chevy Silverado and was also stopped at the light.

When the light turned green, both vehicles sped off. The GMC veered into another lane and crashed into the Silverado.

The impact caused both trucks to lose control and fall into a nearby bayou.

The 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The 29-year-old man was taken to Memorial Herman SE. He is facing possible intoxicated manslaughter charges.

The crash remains under investigation.
