Pat Riley Hit, Killed by Car at Macroplaza Mall in Houston

Pat Riley ID’d as Former Pasadena Councilwoman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident at Macroplaza Mall

Houston, Texas (July 9, 2019) – The former Pasadena councilwoman who was hit and killed by a car Monday morning in Houston has been identified as Pat Riley, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. July 8, in the parking lot of Macroplaza Mall.

Police said Riley was crossing in a crosswalk as she left Palais Royal when she was hit by a white Chevrolet truck.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Riley was airlifted to the hospital where she later died.

Riley served as the District E Councilwoman from 1991-1999 and as Mayor Pro Tem from 1998-1999. She was also an active member of the Pasadena Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association and regularly attended city council meetings.

The police are conducting the investigation.
