Patricia Shaw Killed in Car Crash on SH 36 in Coryell County

Patricia Shaw Killed in Coryell County Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 36 and TX 236

Coryell County, Texas (August 11, 2023) – A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Coryell County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 2:20 p.m., August 9, at the intersection of SH 36 and TX 236 near the Coryell-Bell County line.

DPS said a 65-year-old Temple man was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram truck northbound on TX 236 when he failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and collided with a 2022 Ford F-350 towing a trailer, which was traveling westbound on SH 36.

Patricia Fischer Shaw, 66, of Temple, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford was being driven by a 35-year-old Belton man.

No other details were available.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
