Pedestrian Killed, Driver Arrested after Crash on Menchaca Road in South Austin

One Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Accident on Menchaca Road near Slaughter Lane

Austin, Texas (February 17, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed Saturday night after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in south Austin, according to officials.

The deadly accident occurred at about 10:36 p.m. February 15, in the 10000 block of Menchaca Road, near Slaughter Lane.

Officials said the pedestrian was struck by a suspected drunk driver on Menchaca Road.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and was taken into custody.

An investigation is underway.
