El Paso, Texas – A woman was killed and two other people were injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in El Paso, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 11:25 p.m., December 17, on Loop 375 at mile marker 41 on the Vista Del Sol ramp.

Police said 43-year-old Perla Canales was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra southbound when she came to a complete stop on the interstate.

A 2004 Honda Element was merging onto Loop 375 South from the on-ramp of Vista Del Sol when it rear-ended the Sentra at highway speeds.

Canales was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died.

The Honda driver, 36-year-old Jorge Saucedo, and a child in his vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Another passenger in the Honda, Pamela Casas, 18, left the scene while officers were conducting the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
