Richard Tovar Killed in Hit-and-Run on Commerce Street in San Antonio

Richard Tovar Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Commerce Street 

San Antonio, Texas (November 24, 2022) – The man who was killed last month in a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio has been identified as 46-year-old Richard Tovar, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:30 p.m., October 19, in the 4300 block of West Commerce Street, near NW 24th Street and Our Lady of the Lake University.

Police said a silver 2014 Chevy Impala was traveling eastbound in the outside lane when it struck Tovar, who was crossing the street from the northbound to the southbound side.

Tovar was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Impala fled the scene after the accident, and the authorities are looking for the driver.

When located, the driver will face a charge of failure to stop and render aid.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.
