Randy Athey Killed and William Moorison Injured in Princeton Fire Truck Crash at FM 75 (Longneck Road) and Monte Carlo Blvd

Princeton, Texas (July 17, 2020) – A driver was killed, and a firefighter was injured in a traffic collision involving a Princeton fire truck Monday morning in Princeton, according to a local news release.

The fatal crash happened at about 10:00 a.m. July 13, at FM 75 (Longneck Road) and Monte Carlo Blvd.

According to the release, a Princeton Fire De­partment truck was heading eastbound on Monte Carlo Blvd when it was t-boned by a 2005 Ford F-350 pickup that was traveling northbound on FM 75.

The Ford driver, Randy Athey, 30, of Princeton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire truck driver and sole occupant, William Moorison, 37, was taken to Medical City McKinney with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
