Randy Washington Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on 610 South Loop in Houston

Randy Washington Killed in Houston Bicycle Accident on 610 South Loop at Braeswood Boulevard

Houston, Texas (June 21, 2020) – The bicyclist who was fatally hit by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning in southwest Houston has been identified as Randy Washington,64, according to family members.

The deadly accident occurred around 5:35 a.m. June 20, on the West Loop 610 service road at the Braeswood Boulevard exit in the Meyerland area.

Police said Washington was riding with a group of bicyclists and was a short distance ahead of the group. He was then struck by a vehicle that was heading southbound on the service road.

The driver fled the scene without rendering aid.

Washington was killed in the crash. 

HPD is looking for the hit-and-run driver who will face a failure to Render Aid charge if found. 

The vehicle might have front-end damage.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
