Ricky Cook and Zane Gregg ID’d as Two Killed in Godley Crash on Texas Highway 171

Godley, Texas (August 7, 2019) – The two people who were killed in a head-on crash Sunday night in Godley have been identified as Ricky Cook, of Weatherford and Zane Gregg, 17, of Godley, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. August 4, in the 11300 block of Texas Highway 171 near Cresson.

Police said Cook was driving a blue GMC pickup when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a silver Dodge Ram driven by Gregg.

Both Cook and Gregg were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
