Robert Garza Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 345 in San Benito
San Benito Consolidated Independent School District Employee Robert Garza ID’d as 1 of 2 Killed in State Highway 345 Collision
San Benito, Texas (June 11, 2022) – One of the two people who died Friday morning following a two-vehicle crash in San Benito has been identified as Robert Garza. He was an employee of the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District.
According to the San Benito Police Department, the deadly crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, in the 27000 block of State Highway 345.
Police said a car, occupied by Garza and another man, was attempting to make a U-turn when a delivery truck traveling northbound on State Highway 345 struck the vehicle.
Garza, who was the athletic trainer at San Benito High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, who served as the athletic trainer at San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy, also died at the scene.
Further details regarding the collision were not immediately provided.
San Benito Police Department is investigating the accident.
