Robert Nunez Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Vance Jackson

San Antonio, Texas (June 18, 2021) – The man who was fatally hit Tuesday afternoon by a driver who had passed out in San Antonio’s North Side has been identified as 54-year-old Robert Nunez, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened around 3:30 p.m., June 15, in the 1400 block of Vance Jackson, near Interstate 10.

Police said a Ford Ranger was traveling northbound and was heading to a clinic when he passed out, crossed into the southbound lanes, crashed into a pole, and then hit Nunez, who was standing beside a VIA Transit bus bench.

Nunez was pinned between the vehicle and the bench after the crash.

Nunez was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
