Robert Pineda Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 183 near Onion Creek

Austin, Texas (May 7, 2021) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash last month in Austin near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has been identified as Robert Pineda,71, of Austin, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident occurred around 9:25 p.m., April 25, on U.S. 183, just south of Onion Creek.

DPS said Pineda was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa northbound on the highway while a 2008 Dodge Ram was leaving a private drive.

The Dodge failed to yield and hit the Nissan, causing it to roll into the median.

Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
