Roberta Gail Ruggles Hit, Killed by Truck on I-35 Lower Deck in Central Austin

Roberta Gail Ruggles Killed in Central Austin Pedestrian Accident on I-35 Lower Deck 

Austin, Texas (June 6, 2020) – The woman who was hit and killed by a truck Monday night in Central Austin has been identified as 33-year-old Roberta Gail Ruggles, according to police.

The accident occurred around 11:50 p.m., June 1, on the Interstate 35 lower deck, near the Fiesta Mart at the 38th 1/2 Street.

Police said Ruggles was walking westbound on the highway when she was struck by a flatbed truck.

Ruggles was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The involved remained at the scene after the accident.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-8581.
