Ron Ferguson Struck by Vehicle, Critically Injured on Summerhill Road in Texarkana

Ron Ferguson Critically Injured in Texarkana Pedestrian Accident on Summerhill Road at Texas High School

Texarkana, Texas (September 25, 2020) – The 68-year-old crossing guard who was critically injured Monday morning after being struck by a pickup truck in Texarkana has been identified as Ron Ferguson, according to police.

The accident happened around 8:21 a.m., September 21, on Summerhill Road at Texas High School.

Police said a 76-year-old man was driving a Ford pickup truck southbound in the left turn lane and was preparing to turn left into the Summerhill Square parking lot when he struck Ferguson who was standing in the turn lane directing traffic at Texas High School.

Ferguson was taken to Christus St. Michael in critical condition.

The police are investigating the crash.
