Ronald Presley, Jeffery Stewart Killed in Crash on US 83 near Winters

Ronald Presley and Jeffery Stewart Killed in Winters Three-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 83

Winters, Texas (October 2, 2022) – Two people were killed, and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon about 4.5 miles south of Winters, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m., September 27, on U.S. Highway 83.

DPS said Ronald Presley, 74, of Winters, was driving a Ford F-150 northbound on the highway when he crossed the center line and crashed into a semi-truck that was pulling a trailer. The Ford then crashed into a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Stewart, 43, of Ballinger.

Presley and Stewart were killed in the crash.

Three passengers in Stewart’s car, including two children, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
