Codey Henderson Killed in Young County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 16 

Young County, Texas (September 3, 2023) – A man was killed early Friday morning in a head-on collision in Young County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 6:00 a.m., September 1, on State Highway 16, about 9.5 miles south of Loving.

Authorities said a 2007 Ford Mustang was traveling northwest when it crossed the center stripe into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 2004 Freightliner CL1 towing a 2015 Manac Belly Dump trailer, which was traveling southeast.

Codey Henderson, 20, of Wichita Falls, who was a passenger in the Mustang, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mustang driver, Johhana Sharon Delira, 20, of Olney, was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist in Fort Worth with unknown injuries.

Both occupants of the Mustang were not wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of the Freightliner, a 48-year-old man from Graham, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
