Joseph Nunez Killed in Decatur Motorcycle Crash at U.S. 81/287 and County Road 4228

Decatur, Texas (July 16, 2023) – According to the Texas DPS, a man was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle crash south of Decatur.

The deadly accident happened around 1:17 p.m., July 15, at the intersection of U.S. 81/287 and County Road 4228.

DPS said Timothy Ashcraft, 43, of Alvord, was driving a 2007 Dodge Dakota when he failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and crashed into Joseph Nunez, 47, of College Station, who was riding a 2018 BMW K16 on U.S. 81/287.

Nunez was taken to Wise Health System in Decatur, where he was pronounced dead.

No other details were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
