Ronnie Kroener Killed and James Burden Injured in Wichita Falls Two-Vehicle Crash on I-44 near Bacon Switch Road 

Wichita Falls, Texas (October 2, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a head-on collision Thursday morning in Wichita Falls, according to authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:20 a.m., October 1, on I-44 near Bacon Switch Road.

DPS said James Burden from Burkburnett, was driving a Ford F-350 southbound in the northbound lanes when he crashed head-on into a Chevy Sonoma driven by Ronnie Kroener, 74, of Wichita Falls.

Kroener was pronounced dead at the scene.

Burden was taken to United Regional with non-life-threatening injuries. He might have suffered a medical condition at the time of the crash.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
