Russell Gibbs Killed in Orange Bicycle Accident on Highway 62 near FM 1078

Orange, Texas (October 20, 2021) – A 65-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a bicycle accident in Orange, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 8:30 a.m., on Highway 62, just north of FM 1078.

Police said Russell Jay Gibbs, 65, was riding a bicycle when he was struck by an 18-wheeler.

Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
