Sandi Schiler Killed in Wood County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 11

Wood County, Texas (August 27, 2021) – A woman was killed, and another was injured Thursday night in a head-on collision in Wood County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened around 9:28 p.m., August 26, on State Highway 11, two miles east of Winnsboro.

DPS said a 1999 Dodge 1500 was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crossed the center stripe, for unknown reasons, and crashed head-on into a westbound 2020 Jeep Renegade.

The Dodge driver, Sandi Schiler, 43, of Whitewright, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jeep driver, Catherine Anderson, 32, of Winnsboro, was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
