Sara House Killed and Camryn Herriage Seriously Injured in Dallas Hit-and-Run Crash on Beckley Avenue; Carmen Guerrero Arrested

Dallas, Texas – One person was killed and five others were injured last month in a hit-and-run accident in Dallas, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on February 11, on Beckley Avenue where Woodall Rogers Freeway ends.

Authorities said Camryn Herriage, 23, was in a car with her college roommate and three other friends and were waiting at a light when they were hit by a Ford pickup truck, causing a chain reaction crash.

Herriage and four others were rushed to the hospital, but her roommate at Texas Tech, Sara House, was killed.

Herriage is still fighting for her life in the ICU on a ventilator.

The Ford driver, 27-year-old Carmen Guerrero, fled the scene on foot but was later arrested and faces multiple charges including manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She remains in the Dallas County jail.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
