Sara Yielding Killed in Car Crash on US 62 in Lubbock County

Sara Ann Yielding Killed in Lubbock County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 62

Lubbock County, Texas (March 24, 2023) – One person was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly accident happened just after 5:00 p.m., March 22, on U.S. Highway 62, just under a mile west of Idalou.

DPS said Sara Ann Yielding, 75, of Lubbock, was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra eastbound and stopped at a stop sign at an intersection. She failed to yield the right of way, pulled out into the intersection, and a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck her Nissan.

Yielding was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Grand Cherokee driver was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
