Several Hospitalized after Metro Train Hits Ambulance at Fannin Street and Dryden Road in Houston

Firefighter Among Several Injured in Houston Train Crash at Fannin Street and Dryden Road

Houston, Texas (April 12, 2023) – A firefighter and several other people were injured after an ambulance was transporting a patient to the Texas Children’s Hospital and was hit by a Metro Train on Tuesday night at an intersection in Houston, authorities said.

The crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the intersection of Fannin Street and Dryden Road near Texas Medical Center.

According to authorities, the ambulance was turning into the hospital when it was struck by the Metro Train.

One firefighter and a patient in the ambulance were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Three people on the train were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
