Four Injured in Orange County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Orange County, Texas (May 4, 2022) – Four people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Orange County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m., May 3, on Interstate 10.

DPS said a 1995 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling westbound when the driver failed to control their speed as they approached slower moving traffic. The Peterbilt veered left and hit a concrete barrier, causing a chain reaction crash involving several other vehicles. The vehicles involved were a 2014 Ford pickup, a 2019 Alfa Romeo SUV, a 2020 Cub Cadet truck tractor semi-trailer, a 2013 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer, and a 2017 Dodge pickup.

The driver of the Ford and the driver and passenger of the Alfa Romeo were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

One of the two passengers in the Dodge was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The driver of the Peterbilt was cited for failing to drive in a single lane.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
