The crash occurred around 1:00 a.m., December 21, in the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 between Loop 12 and Simpson Stuart Road.

Police said a 43-year-old man was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the interstate when he crashed into a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old woman who was traveling in the left lane.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to spin in a counterclockwise direction.

There were three passengers, a 10-year-old girl, a 28-year-old woman and a 58-year-old woman, in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the crash.

All the occupants in the victim’s vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The wrong-way driver was arrested and charged with three counts of intoxication assault. He was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash closed all lanes of the interstate.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
