Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 130 in Austin

56 People Injured in Austin Car Accident on State Highway 130 near Harold Green Road
Austin, Texas (January 3, 2019) – Fifty-six people were injured early Tuesday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in Austin, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 1 on State Highway 130 near Harold Green Road and involved 20 to 30 vehicles.
Details are extremely limited at this time, and it’s unknown what caused the crash.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to 56 people who were injured as result of the crash. Nine people were then transported to hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
Cleaning and clearing operations were performed at the scene, and as of 9:00 a.m., all lanes of the highway were reopened.
As per the report, the weather was foggy.  The crash remains under investigation.
