Sheldon Reinstein Killed in Southeast Travis County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1625 at U.S. Highway 183

Travis County, Texas (June 6, 2020) – The woman who was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Travis County has been identified as Sheldon Reinstein, 29, according to DPS.

The fatal crash occurred at about 2:38 a.m. June 3, at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1625 and U.S. Highway 183.

DPS said Reinstein was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion southbound on U.S. 183 approaching the intersection while a 2019 Freight-liner truck towing two Great Dane trailers was turning left from FM 1625 onto U.S. 183.

Reinstein ran a red light at the intersection and struck the side of the trailer being towed.

Reinstein was pinned inside her car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed Highway 183 and FM 1625. Traffic was diverted onto McKenzie Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
