Sheri Kennedy Killed, Donald Sanford Injured in Kennard Three-Vehicle Crash on SH 7 near FM 357

Kennard, Texas – One person was killed and another was injured last Monday in a three-vehicle crash in Kennard, according to Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:50 p.m., on December 18, on State Highway 7 near FM 357.

DPS said a 2007 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling eastbound and was being followed by a 2024 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer. A 2005 Ford Excursion was traveling southwest when it crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck the Kenworth. The Ford then overturned and was struck by the Peterbilt.

The Ford driver, 59-year-old Sheri Kennedy of Montgomery, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Peterbilt driver, 64-year-old Donald Sanford of Edinburg, was transported to Mid-Coast Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  

The driver of the Kenworth, 44-year-old Oscar Santos of Nacogdoches, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
