Shirley Ebbs Killed in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on Dyer Street at Hondo Pass Drive

El Paso, Texas (November 26, 2020) – The woman who was injured earlier this month in a two-vehicle crash in El Paso has died, according to police.

Shirley Ebbs, 88, died on November 20.

The crash happened at about 2:00 p.m., November 10, in the 9000 Dyer Street at Hondo Pass Drive.

Police said Ruth Esther Jaime, 41, was driving northbound on Dyer Street while Jonathan Ebbs, 34, was driving southbound and was attempting to turn left onto Hondo Pass Drive.

Jaime failed to yield the right of way and crashed into Ebb’s vehicle as it turned on a green arrow signal light.

Shirley, who was the front passenger in Jonathan’s vehicle, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
