Sindia Torres Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 136 in Hutchinson County

Sindia Torres ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Hutchinson County Crash on Highway 136 near Borger

Hutchinson County, Texas (August 3, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Hutchinson County as Sindia Torres, 28, of Borger.

The deadly crash happened at around 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, on Highway 136, about one-half mile north of Borger.

DPS said Torres was crossing from the northbound lanes into the southbound lanes of Highway 136 when she was hit by a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling south in the outside southbound lane.

Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet was wearing a seat belt and did not suffer any injuries.

The posted speed limit of the road is 70 mph, and road conditions were dry and clear. The Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the crash.
