Ellis County, Texas – A 15-year-old student was injured Friday afternoon in a school bus crash in Ellis County, according to officials.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m., April 12, on Farm to Market Road 55 near Goodwyn Road.

Officials said an Ellis County Co-Op school bus was traveling northbound when a southbound Maserati Ghibli veered into the northbound lane and hit the bus on the left side.

The force of the impact caused the school bus to overturn in a nearby ditch.

A 15-year-old student on the school bus was taken to the Midlothian Methodist Hospital for treatment.

The school bus driver was uninjured in the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Maserati were also uninjured in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
