Summer Hanebuth Killed in Copperas Cove Car Crash on FM 116

Copperas Cove, Texas (March 26, 2019) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Monday morning in Copperas Cove, according to the police.
The wreck happened on FM 116 just before 7:00 a.m. March 25.
Police said Summer Hanebuth, 30, of Gatesville, was driving a 2001 Buick sedan that  merged over into the northbound side of FM 116 and collided head-on with a 2017 Jeep.
Hanebuth was pronounced dead at the scene. A young boy who was a passenger in her vehicle was transported to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple with non-incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the Jeep, Lance Heidt, 47, of Copperas Cove, was transported to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with major injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
