Taina Rivera Killed in Schertz Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 3009 and Webster Drive near JBSA-Randolph

Schertz, Texas (July 31, 2020) – Two teenage girls were killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Schertz near JBSA-Randolph, according to police.

The deadly crash happened around 1:00 a.m., at FM 3009 and Webster Drive.

Police said a Nissan Altima driven by Madison O’Neil, 19, was attempting to turn left onto FM 3009 when it was struck by a Jeep Cherokee.

O’Neil was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Taina Rivera, 17, was taken to San Antonio Medical Center, where she later died.

The Jeep driver, Thomas Wentworth, 17, of San Antonio, was treated at the scene.

Officers said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
