Woman Hit, Killed by Car on Dorothy Street in Heights

Woman Killed in Heights Pedestrian Accident on Dorothy Street near West 10th Street

Heights, Texas (August 19, 2023) – A woman was killed Tuesday evening in a pedestrian accident in the Heights, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 7:00 p.m., August 15, on Dorothy Street near the intersection of West 10th Street.

Police said the woman was in an electric wheelchair heading northbound on Dorothy Street when a gray Ford Explorer heading westbound on 10th Street hit her.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The Ford driver, a 71-year-old man, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The police are investigating the crash.
