Teenager Seriously Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on North Hamilton Avenue

San Antonio, Texas – A teenager was seriously injured Saturday evening in a DWI crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 8:15 p.m., March 2, in the 1600 block of North Hamilton Avenue.

Police said a black Ford Explorer failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of a Jeep, causing the Jeep to crash into the driver’s side of the Ford. The force of the impact caused the Ford to change direction.

The teenage passenger in the Jeep, who was not wearing a seatbelt, then crashed into the Jeep’s windshield.

The teenager was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Jeep driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old and endangering a child.

The Ford driver was cited for no operator’s license.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
