Thomas Carroll Killed in Henderson County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1616 and Trey Circle

Henderson County, Texas (January 12, 2021) – A 78-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Henderson County, northeast of Athens, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 8:40 a.m., January 11, at the intersection of FM 1616 and Trey Circle.

According to a preliminary investigation, Thomas Carroll, of Athens, was driving a 2015 Toyota Sienna westbound on Trey Circle when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 that was traveling southbound on FM 1616.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the westbound ditch alongside FM 1616.

Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, Larry Webb, 44, of Athens, was uninjured in the crash.

No other information was provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
