Kaufman County, Texas (March 5, 2020) – Three people, including a child, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in eastern Kaufman County, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, March 4, on westbound Interstate 20, just west of FM 2965 near the Kaufman-Van Zandt County line.

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a westbound Buick Rendezvous leaned down to pick up something and rear-ended a westbound 18-wheeler.

Two adults in the Rendezvous were airlifted to CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler with non-life threatening injuries.

A child in the Rendezvous was taken by ground ambulance to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash closed both westbound lanes of the interstate.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
