Tiffany Mayfield and Child Airlifted after Car Crash on SH 7 in Shelby County

Tiffany Mayfield and 2-Year-Old Boy Injured in Shelby County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 7

Shelby County, Texas (January 8, 2020) – A mother and a child were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Shelby County, east of Center, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened around 6:35 a.m., on SH 7.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2009 Ford SUV was heading westbound on the highway when it failed to control speed and rear-ended a 2018 Dodge pickup that was stopped for a school bus loading passengers.

The Dodge driver, James Beasley, 50, of Marshall, was uninjured in the crash.

The Ford driver, Tiffany Mayfield, 26, of Joaquin, and a 2-year-old male passenger, were airlifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport for treatment.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
