Tyler Thompson Killed in Two-Car Crash on North County Road 1700 in Lubbock

Lubbock, Texas – A person was killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 8:00 p.m., April 18, on North County Road 1700.

DPS said Daimon Dale Knight, 61, of Lubbock was driving southbound while Kahlil Lamont De Vaughn, 21, of Littlefield was driving northbound.

Knight’s vehicle crossed over the center stripe into the northbound lane and collided with De Vaughn’s vehicle.

Tyler Obed Thompson, 21, of Littlefield, who was a passenger in De Vaughn’s vehicle, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock where he later died.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
