Rotan Woman Vicky Hernandez Killed in Irion County Crash on FM 2469 and SH 163

Irion County, Texas (January 14, 2019) – A woman from Rotan died in a fatal accident that occurred at the scene of an earlier crash in Irion County on Sunday morning.
According to the DPS, the accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. January 13 at FM 2469 and SH 163.
DPS said Vicky Lynn Hernandez, 45, of Rotan, was driving a truck westbound on RM 2469 when she was involved in a minor crash at the intersection.
Shortly after, as Hernandez was sitting on the tailgate of her pickup truck parked in the northwest corner of the intersection, a Kia driver ran a stop sign and crashed into her.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 2015 Kia Optima, Conell Dwyon Pryor, 42, of Stamford, was not injured in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
