Viola Garcez Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-35 in Buda

Viola Garcez Killed in Buda Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Buda, Texas (October 14, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday in Buda, according to police.

The deadly accident happened on October 10, at an H-E-B in the 15300 block of Interstate 35.

Police said 67-year-old Viola Garcez was crossing the street in a crosswalk when she was struck by a gray Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jeffrey Conzemius, 58.

Conzemius fled the scene after the crash heading southbound on the frontage road.

Garcez was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Conzemius was later located and was charged with an accident involving death. He was booked into the Hays County Jail.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Detective Dustin Maxwell at 512-523-1045.
