Waswa Sula Dies in Hit-and-Run on Hillcroft Avenue in Houston

Waswa Sula Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Hillcroft Avenue

Houston, Texas – According to the police, the pedestrian who was injured earlier this month in a hit-and-run accident in Houston has died.

Waswa Sula, 38, was pronounced dead on January 13.

The crash happened around 9:40 p.m., January 2, in the 3500 block of Hillcroft Avenue.

Police said Sula was crossing the street, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a silver Toyota Corolla driven by Gabriel Mejia Cor, 25.

Mejia Cor fled the scene after the crash and was located a short time later. He was into custody and then to the Harris County Jail. He has been charged with failure to stop and render aid.

Sula was conscious and breathing when paramedics transported him to the hospital where he was treated and released on January 7.

On January 13, Sula was found unresponsive on a sidewalk and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
