William Everett and Ernest Johnson Hospitalized after Alvin Crash on FM 1462 near County Road 282
Alvin, Texas (April 24, 2019) – Two men were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a traffic collision in Alvin, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The major accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 on FM 1462 near County Road 282.
The DPS said a white 2007 Ford F-150 driven by William Everett, 22, of Alvin, was heading westbound on FM 1462 when for an undetermined reason it drifted into an oncoming lane and collided head-on with an eastbound maroon 2001 Ford F-250 operated by Ernest Johnson, 62, of Alvin.
The force of the impact caused the 2001 Ford F-250 to spin around and flipped over before coming to a stop with the driver’s side leaning against a fence.
Everett and Johnson sustained non-life threatening injuries and were airlifted to Memorial-Hermann Hospital, where Johnson underwent surgery and is recovering in a stable condition.
Authorities said Everett was operating with an invalid license and was considered at fault for the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
