William Gamez Killed in San Antonio Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on E. Houston Street

San Antonio, Texas (August 7, 2020) – The man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in San Antonio’s East Side has been identified as William Gamez,33, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around midnight, August 5, in the 4000 block of E. Houston Street near East Commerce Street.

Police said Gamez was walking across the street when he was struck by a white sedan.

The sedan fled the scene after the accident.

Gamez was found lying in the street with severe head trauma. He was taken to SAMMC, where he later died. 

The authorities are looking for the suspect driver who, if found, might face a failure to stop and render aid charge.

The police are investigating the crash.
