43-Year-Old Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Gessner Road
Houston, Texas (January 26, 2019) – The woman who was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle last week Thursday in Houston has died, according to police.
The fatal accident took place at around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, January 17 in the 900 block of Gessner Road.
Police said the 43-year-old woman was walking across Gessner Road when she was hit by a black Ford Explorer, which was exiting a parking lot of a mall with a green light and turned right onto Gessner Road.
The woman was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries Thursday, Jan. 24. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of her family.
The driver stopped at the scene and complied with investigators. It was undetermined if the deceased was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
