Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle on East Carrol Street in San Juan

32-Year-Old Woman Killed in San Juan Pedestrian Accident on East Carrol Street; Michael Gallegos Martinez Arrested

San Juan, Texas (April 20, 2022) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in San Juan, police said.

At around 1:28 a.m. on April 16, authorities received a report about a pedestrian having been hit by a vehicle in the 700 block of East Carrol Street.

The pedestrian, only identified as a 32-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The involved driver, identified as Michael Gallegos Martinez, was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter accident involving damage to a vehicle. His bail was set at $260 thousand.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
