Woman Injured in Crash with Deputy US Marshal Jonathan Jones on Loop 1604 in San Antonio

Woman Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 1604; Deputy US Marshal Jonathan Jones Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (February 1, 2020) – A woman was injured Friday morning after a wrong-way crash involving a deputy US Marshal in San Antonio, according to the police.

The collision took place around 1:00 a.m. January 31, on Loop 1604 near the Babcock Road exit.

Police said Deputy US Marshal Jonathan Jones, 40, was driving a pickup truck on the wrong direction of the roadway when he crashed head-on into a sedan.

The sedan driver, a woman, was pinned in the car. She was taken to University Hospital in unknown condition.

Jones was arrested on intoxication assault charges. 

According to a spokesman for the US Marshals Service, Jones will be relieved of his operational duties and placed on administrative leave.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
