Woman Killed and Four Injured in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Katy Freeway at Mason Road

Harris County, Texas (January 24, 2022) – A woman was killed, and four others were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Harris County, according to deputies.

The fatal crash happened on January 23, at the intersection of Katy Freeway feeder and Mason Road.

Deputies said a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Dodge Charger collided at the intersection. The Ram then crashed into a signal light pole, causing the bed and rear axle to detach and the main cab to roll over.

A woman who was a passenger in the Dodge Ram was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Three other people in the Dodge Ram were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Charger was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators were working to determine if impairment was a factor in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
