Woman Killed, Girl Injured in Rear-End Collision on Highway 290 in Manor

20-Year-Old Woman Killed, 17-Year-Old Girl Injured in Manor Crash on Highway 290 at FM 973

Manor, Texas (December 8, 2022) – A 20-year-old woman was killed and a 17-year-old girl was injured in a rear-end accident late Wednesday night, according to authorities.

The deadly crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, on Highway 290 at FM 973.

Authorities said an SUV was traveling eastbound on Highway 290 when it was struck from behind by another SUV that was attempting to turn on the highway from FM 973.

The driver of the first SUV, a 20-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the second SUV, a 17-year-old girl, sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
