Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Pershing Street

Houston, Texas (October 16, 2023) – A male pedestrian died after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Houston, according to police.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, October 15, in the 5800 block of Pershing Street.

Police said the woman was walking on or near the sidewalk on Pershing Street when a vehicle heading westbound on Pershing veered off the road and hit the woman.

The woman was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was later declared dead. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
